Often each plank has an attached underlayment for a quieter, warmer look and feel for floors, that is fundamentally resistant to odor causing mold and mildew. The underlayment layer, will also reduce sound transfer from the 2nd floor.
It is used throughout the home, and it can be used in wet areas, like bathrooms and kitchens. Its stable composition will never swell when exposed to water, and will not expand or contract under normal conditions.
Laminate
Developed to imitate hardwood in color, grain and texture, it is available in high gloss, distressed, or handscraped textures, and a large variety and combination of these options. Laminate is realistic and resistant to stains, scratches, wear and fading. It’s easy-to-maintain & carries a 15 to 25 yr residential warranty.
